The NHRTC is an all-volunteer organization that promotes the development, maintenance, and active use of trails constructed on New Hampshire’s railroad corridors. Our directors and volunteers provide the following in service of our state-wide rail trail community:
- Website. Relevant and current information, including trail maps, events, and trail development and advocacy resources.
- Networking. Our biennial conference attracts trail experts, advocates, and users from around the state and region to identify and advance common goals.
- Information. Our electronic NewsFlash keeps readers informed and provides practical ways to express your opinion regarding legislation and policy impacting rail trails.
- Activities. Our Rail Trail Challenge inspires cyclists, walkers, runners ++ to sample trails across New Hampshire and to experience all the beauty and adventure they have to offer.
- Advocacy. We work with state agencies and legislators to sponsor rail trail programs and inform policy. We are currently involved in the State Trails Advisory Committee, 2022-2026 OHRV Study Commission, Personal Electric Vehicle (PEV) policy, and state funding (SB 274).
The NHRTC Board recognizes that we are remiss in regularly reminding our roughly 700 like-minded supporters to maintain their memberships. With May designated as National Bike Month, we picked May 1 as the day for a fresh start building membership, which is critical to our success. Timed with this theme and the warmer, Spring weather that invites us all to return to our bicycles, and walking shoes. Please watch for future invitations to join (or rejoin) the NHRTC.
If you can’t wait, please feel free to update your membership here, today!
