Accessibility has been an issue with the Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway since its completion in 2003. This study focuses on deigning better connections between a Rail Trail and the local communities it was meant to serve. This research has provided support to secure funding for improving River Walk access.
 
The study consists of four parts: research, community engagement, design solutions and deliverables. Reviewing this document will give the reader ideas on how to craft a similar one for their own use. One will also learn more about the term “environmental justice community”.
