How Can You Help Your Local Rail Trail?
All over the state, New Hampshire’s rail trails are typically maintained by a collaborative partnership of state, municipal and local
non-profit volunteer organizations. Rail trails rely heavily on local volunteers for trail maintenance and cleanup, whether it’s a “friends of” organization, snowmobile club, or town conservation commission.
You can help your local rail trail in a variety of ways. For example, you can:
- Join or donate money to the local “Friends of” rail trail organization
- Join or donate money to the Snowmobile or ATV club that maintains the trail. Buy a ticket if they host an annual raffle or other event.
- Show up & help out at trail work days.
- Advocate for more resources, funding and attention to rail trails at local & statewide meetings.
