The NHRTC started off 2023 with an information-packed webinar for all who are interested in the current status of NH Rail Trails and how they are funded.

What does the Webinar cover?  We will address the conundrum of rail trail funding (mostly via the motorized recreation users), and rail trail usage (mostly the non-motorized, active trail users). How does this add up?  At first, even we could not accurately answer all of these questions! We have now done our homework and will share our results with you.

Outline for this Webinar: New Hampshire Rail Trail Status

  • How many rail trails are there in NH?
  • How many miles do we have?
  • Where are they? Are there maps?
  • Who owns them? State? Town?
  • Who maintains them?
  • How are our rail trails funded?
  • What can we do to help fund our rail trails?

This is the first of a series of NHRTC Webinars that we are planning for 2023, so join us for this inaugural event! We have a 2023 New Year’s Resolution to share information about our NH Rail Trails with our members and friends!

This helpful map shows the political jurisdictions of the rail corridors – so advocates can see who to reach out to for support in developing our rail trails.    Big Thanks to Matt Baronas at Central NH Regional Planning Commission for creating this map.
