The audience engaged with the speakers for meaningful discussions. US Representative Chris Pappas helped launch the conference with his 1.5 minute video that details his appreciation, dedication and support of\u00a0 NH&#8217;s rail trails throughout his years in political office &#8211; touching on the key theme of <em>funding<\/em>. NHRTC appreciates his on-going support as we work to securing meaningful funds for rail trail development here in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alexis Rudko, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhstateparks.org\/about-nh-parks\/who-we-are\/trails-bureau\">BOT<\/a> Deputy Chief highlighted Collaborations and NH Rail Trail Plan Implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Bill Watson, DOT Administrator, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dot.nh.gov\/about-nh-dot\/divisions-bureaus-districts\/planning-community-assistance\">Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance<\/a> addressed the limited funding available in NH and new cut-backs at the Federal level.<\/li>\n<li>Kevin Mills, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railstotrails.org\/\">Rails-to-Trails Conservancy<\/a> VP on Policy gave us the latest on what the federal funding landscape looks like.\u00a0 Other topics included how rail trails fit into NH&#8217;s outdoor economy; progress and progress and challenges along the NH Seacoast Greenway.<\/li>\n<li>Janel Lawton, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nheconomy.com\/office-of-outdoor-recreation\/who-we-are\">NH Outdoor Recreation Industry Development<\/a> Director spoke of rail trails place in NH&#8217;s vibrant Outdoor Recreation Economy<\/li>\n<li>Scott Bogel, Rockingham Planning Commission Senior Planner presented <a href=\"https:\/\/nhseacoastgreenway.org\/\">NH Seacoast Greenwa<\/a>y progress and challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Jeff Rogers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bwanh.org\/\">BWA-NH<\/a> Secretary gave overview of\u00a0 Personal Electric Vehicle use and misuse.<\/li>\n<li>Mike Kowalczyk, NHRTC Board, outlined NHRTC trail funding legislative efforts since 2023 conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Scroll down to see all of the powerpoint PDFs.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Street Caf\u00e9 provided breakfast, snacks, and lunch which were enjoyed by everyone in three break-out rooms.\u00a0 Poster displays from many rail trail groups prompted many side-line discussions that focused on project developments in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>NHRTC holds these biennial conferences for the purpose of highlighting the development of NH Rail Trails and what NHRTC has been doing toward that goal.
