{"id":3000,"date":"2020-11-22T16:54:06","date_gmt":"2020-11-22T16:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nhrtc.org\/?p=3000"},"modified":"2021-02-22T19:23:41","modified_gmt":"2021-02-22T19:23:41","slug":"longest-rail-trail-in-new-hampshire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nhrtc.org\/nhrtc-core\/longest-rail-trail-in-new-hampshire\/","title":{"rendered":"Longest Rail Trail in New Hampshire"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>The Longest Rail Trail In New Hampshire is a World of Epic Beauty You&#8217;ll Want to Experience<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Posted in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onlyinyourstate.com\/new-hampshire\/longest-rail-trail-nh\/\">New Hampshire<\/a>\u00a0Februrary 1, 2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onlyinyourstate.com\/author\/mstarin\/\">by Michelle<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 1996 New Hampshire purchased Boston and Maine Railroad&#8217;s Northern Line rail corridor to turn it into trail. \u00a0At almost 60 miles, from Lebanon to Boscawen, it is the longest continuous rail trail in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s taken a lot of cooperative work to turn it from an active rail corridor to a rail trail &#8211; and what a scenic trail it is. \u00a0 There are 9 bridge crossings over the Mascoma River in the first four miles! \u00a0There are historical markers along the way as well as swimming spots.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To get to the trailhead in Lebanon, take Exit 18 on I-89. From here, you\u2019ll head south on NH 120 for nearly a half mile before turning left on Hanover St. Continue on US 4\/S, which is also Park Street. After a quarter of a mile turn left onto E.
